About Siemens Gamesa
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is the wind power business that grew out of a 2017 merger between Siemens’s wind division and the Spanish turbine maker Gamesa, and it has been fully owned by Siemens Energy — itself spun off from Siemens AG in 2020 — since 2023. Globally, it’s one of the largest wind turbine manufacturers in the world, building both onshore and offshore turbines and supporting them with long-term service contracts.
There’s a detail specific to the India entity worth knowing before you apply: in March 2025, Siemens Gamesa agreed to transfer a 90% stake in its Indian wind manufacturing, installation, and service operations to a TPG-led investor consortium, while retaining a 10% stake and a long-term technology licensing arrangement. What it kept in full, however, is its India Design Center — the technology and engineering function, roughly 1,200 people, that remained inside Siemens Energy’s global wind business rather than moving to the new entity. Loads and Controls Engineering, the department behind this internship, is a design/technology function of exactly that kind, which is why the posting still lists “Siemens Energy” as the parent rather than the newly spun-off manufacturing company. Worth confirming directly with the recruiter during your interview, but based on the publicly reported structure, this role sits on the Siemens Energy side of that split, not the TPG-owned manufacturing side.
