About IBM
IBM (International Business Machines) was founded in 1911 and is one of the oldest and largest technology companies in the world, with roughly 268,000 employees globally as of 2026. It has transformed itself more than once over the decades — from punch-card machines and mainframes, to PCs, to today’s mix of enterprise software, consulting, and infrastructure, with a heavy current push into AI (its watsonx platform), hybrid cloud, and quantum computing. Under CEO Arvind Krishna, who took over in 2020, IBM has leaned further into software and consulting as its main growth engines, alongside its traditional infrastructure and technology-services business.
This particular role sits inside IBM Consulting, the company’s professional-services arm, which works with large enterprise and government clients on technology and business transformation projects. India is one of IBM’s largest talent hubs globally, and its delivery centers — including the FutureNow Centers mentioned in this posting — are where a large share of IBM Consulting’s actual project execution happens, serving clients across the US, Europe, and elsewhere. As a fresher, you’d be joining one of the biggest IT employers in the country, inside a unit built specifically around delivering AI and automation work for big clients rather than IBM’s own internal product development.
